 How old must my child be to enroll?

Morningside Presbyterian Children’s Center (MPCC) offers preschool programs for children ages 2-5 years old. We also offer a before and after school program for elementary grades K through 6th grade.

 What are the operating hours of the center?

Morningside Children’s Center is open from 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Monday – Friday.

 Do you have an after school program?

We offer a before and after school program for students attending Acacia and Raymond school, grades K through 6th.  We also offer a free van service for students enrolled at Acacia and Raymond.

 What are the teacher/student ratios?

MPCC offers various staff/student ratios depending on the age of the children. In the 2’s class we offer a maximum 1:4 ratio; in the 3’s class we offer a maximum 1:9 ratio; in the pre-K class we offer a maximum 1:12 ratio. Our school age program offers a maximum ratio of 1:14

 What kind of curriculum is used in the classes?

Our teachers will develop the specific curriculum according to the interest, levels and needs of the children. The following domains of learning are utilized in preparing the curriculum: spiritual, social/emotional, language and literacy, mathematics, visual and performing arts, physical development, health history/social science, and science.

 Do you offer clearly-defined learning areas?

We offer several clearly-defined learning areas including writing, art, library, blocks, science, dramatic play, and manipulatives, depending on age appropriateness of the class.

 What type of religious instruction do you have?

MPCC offer age appropriate Christian instruction in each class as well as a weekly chapel. MPCC welcomes children of all faiths.

 What kind of communications do you have with parents?

MPCC staff enjoys meeting with and getting to know our student parents and communicate in a variety of ways, including bright bulletin boards, informative notices, verbal, written, as well as face to face meetings when requested. Our doors are always open for parents to stop by.
